Carrara Fabio

Fabio Carrara is a researcher at the Artificial Intelligence for Multimedia and Humanities Laboratory (AIMH, http://aimh.isti.cnr.it/) of the Information Science and Technologies Institute (ISTI) of the Italian CNR in Pisa. He received a Master's Degree and a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Pisa (Italy) respectively in 2015 and 2019.

Gennaro Claudio

Claudio Gennaro is a researcher at CNR-ISTI. He received a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pisa in 1994 and a Master in Information Technology from CEFRIEL in Milan. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer and Automatic Engineering in 1999 at the Politecnico di Milano. His main interests are artificial intelligence, deep learning, access structures for multimedia document retrieval, wireless sensor networks, peer-to-peer systems, digital libraries, performance evaluation, and parallel computing. He authored over 100 papers in international journals and conferences.

Falchi Fabrizio

Fabrizio Falchi is a researcher of the Artificial Intelligence for Multimedia Information Retrieval group of the Networked Multimedia Information Systems lab of ISTI-CNR He has a Ph.D. in Information Engineering from University of Pisa (Italy), and a Ph.D. in Informatics from Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University of Brno (Czech Republic). He also received an M.B.A. from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa.

Amato Giuseppe

Giuseppe Amato obtained his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Dortmund, Germany, in 2002. He is a senior researcher at CNR-ISTI, where he is leads the research group 'Artificial Inttelligence and Multimedia Information Retrieval' (AIMIR - http://aimir.isti.cnr.it/). His main research interests are Artificial Intelligence, content-based research of multimedia documents, large scale similarity search, intelligent camera networks.

Monteiro de Lira Vinicius

Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the High Performance Computing Lab at the ISTI-CNR. PhD in Computer Science at the Federal University of Pernambuco, ­with joint supervision by the University of Pisa. Current research topics include machine learning techniques applied to mobility data for the development of Smart Mobility applications. He has actively collaborated in several Research European Projects involving different areas of Computer Science such as Data Mining, Distributed Computing, and Cloud Computing.

Tonellotto Nicola

Nicola Tonellotto is researcher at the Information Science and Technologies Institute "A. Faedo" of the National Research Council of Italy. He received his Ph.D. in Information Engineering from the University of Dortmund and the University of Pisa in 2008. His research interests are mainly focused on cloud technologies for data processing and information retrieval infrastructures. He is author of more than 50 papers published on the major conferences and journals of information retrieval and cloud computing.

Pappalardo Luca

Born in Salerno (Italy), I earned my PhD in Computer Science at University of Pisa with the thesis "Human Mobility, Social Networks and Economic Development: a Data Science perspective". In my research, I exploit the power of Big Data to study many aspects of human behavior: the patterns of human mobility, the structure and evolution of complex networks, the patterns of success in sports, and the usage of data-driven measures of human behavior to monitor and predict the economic development of countries, cities, and territories.

Moreo Fernández Alejandro

Alejandro Moreo Fernández received a PhD in Computer Sciences and Information Technologies from the University of Granada in 2013. He is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Istituto di Scienza e Tecnologie dell'Informazione ``A. Faedo'', which is part of the National Research Council (CNR). His research interests include deep learning and representation learning, with particular focus on imbalanced text classification, multilingual text classification, and cross-domain and cross-lingual sentiment classification.

Trasarti Roberto

Roberto Trasarti was born in 1979 in Italy. He graduated in Computer Science in 2006, at the University of Pisa. He discussed his thesis on ConQueSt: a Constraint-based Query System aimed at supporting frequent patterns discovery. He started the Ph.D. in Computer Science at the School for Graduate Studies "Galileo Galilei", (University of Pisa). In June 2010 he received his Ph.D. presenting the thesis entitled "Mastering the Spatio-Temporal Knowledge Discovery Process".

Rinzivillo Salvatore

Salvatore Rinzivillo was born in 1976 in Ragusa, and holds a Laurea degree in Computer Science (University of Catania, 2001). Since 2002 he has been a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Pisa. His current research interests are data mining, knowledge discovery in spatial and spatio-temporal databases, and visual analytics methods for Big Data.
